Late-Season Lines, Long Friendships, Lots of Laughs.
Kaunertal · Hintertux · Innsbruck
Every spring, snowboarders migrate, not for beaches or cheap drinks, but for the good stuff. The end-of-season, sun-drenched, slushy-boots-in-the-parking-lot kind of good stuff. This year the pull took us deep into Austria with TSA and the homies: Kaunertal, Hintertux, Innsbruck. A trip stitched together by decades of friendships, late-season lines, park laps, and the kind of energy you only find when you’re riding with your people.
With a few first-timers in tow, Jesse Gomez, Niko Phelan, and I chased corduroy mornings, slushy park sessions, off-piste hikes, and those moments algorithms (and anyone who skipped this calling) will never understand. Ritual. Reunion. Nature & Style. Snowboarding at its most human. Trips like this remind us why SIGNAL exists: to protect the pulse of independent riding.
Heated glacier laps, mobbing with friends, rolling into Landhausplatz for skate sessions, and hunting down the best burrito in Innsbruck, the whole journey was a reminder of what matters: ride hard, ride smart, evolve with your moment, and keep friends close.
“Independent snowboarding lives in these small moments, lift banter, slush sprays, hot parking lots and laughs with the friends who keep you charging.”
Reason Mag asked me to tell that story, from the POV of a pro turned modern elder and brand owner. I'm like how it turned out. Back the ones doing real work for the culture and grab the Annual and support the crew.
