Bubba has owned a snowboard shop (Bubbas Boards) in Durango, Co since 1995. This winter will be their 10th season. He also rocks the rock in a band called the Amazing Larry.

Bubba’s Boards is located at the base of Purgatory Mountain. For Bubba it’s about the great people you meet and hang out with. Durango is a tight community and the bottom line for most, is just having a good time. “Its cool how a lot of the guys that I'm on the hill with all day end up at the bar that same night to see the bands play. This has contributed to a nice quality of life for Bubba, great job and playing music, doesn’t get much better than that.

The last ten years Bubba has played in a few bands before being in the current band Amazing Larry. Below is a walk through some of his bands through the years.

“I started out playing in a band called Smut Vendor in 1995. We put out a cassette tape with 16 songs. It was recorded in a basement and there was no distribution. In 1998, I formed a band with long-term snowboard, skate, and rock hero, Erik Mischker. When Erik is on stage singing, it's more like a one-man boxing event. He's rolling around on the floor, he's in your face, and saliva is shooting through the air. The Thirteen’s was the name of the band and we were going strong up until this past December. We put out three cds and two 7-inch records with our friends in Denver, King Bee Records. We are still working on the last 8 songs we recorded this past year. The songs are powerful and show more of the later ideas that we had as a band. We played all over the west coast and made our way through Texas, Oklahoma and as far as Tennessee. Our last tour took us through Colorado, Utah, and California and at last, Las Vegas where Elvis himself married Erik and his wife. After this tour, I wanted to do something different and more trashy than The Thirteen’s. I hooked up with my friend Rob and our good friend and drummer, Alex to start Amazing Larry. The songs started pouring out and this ended up the easiest writing I ever encountered. There is a full length out with 14 songs; we also have a 7-inch out on King Bee Records. We just finished recording 13 new songs with King bee and we are now waiting anxiously to hear the mix. We’ve done a bit of touring through Denver and Albq, Tucson etc. We are always looking for new places to play shows, if you like the music and have ideas of places to play email us.
